Derek Wright is a NYC-based, lighting and (occasional) scenic designer.  He has designed lighting for nearly 100 live productions including dance, theatre, opera and events.  Derek has also served as production designer on several short films.  His lighting design work will be featured in USA exhibit for the upcoming 2011 Prague Quadrennial.

Derek holds an MFA in Design for Stage and Film from New York University and a BFA from the Univ. of Evansville.


His production design work on Elizabeth Orne’s film American Venus won an award for Best Art Direction at the 2008 NYU First Run festival.
